I think the "default hidden" behavior makes sense even in the add/remove scenario. Most of the times the users will be going here to add/remove facets and not to change the runtimes. I originally opened this bug because I had received several comments from WTP users: * One user couldn't figure out how to change the runtime setting. (You've got to go into the Project Facets and then choose Add/Remove Project Facets to change the runtime - not exactly obvious) * Another user figured it out but didn't like the usability enough that they emailed me. * Another user emailed this specific problem and wanted the runtimes shown by default to make it easier to use and more obvious what the user can do. * FWIW, in 0.7 it took 5 mouse-clicks to change the runtime. In 1.0 it now takes 8 clicks. Maybe making the runtimes visible by default isn't the right approach, but given the feedback I've been seeing we still have a usability issue here. I beleive this is something that we still need to investigate. Marking this as a dupe of the work item for creating a dedicated project properties panel for configuring the targeted runtimes. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 134580 *** Closing. |
