Description Tod Creasey CLA 2002-03-20 13:44:23 EST
Help has hardcoded colours and fonts in several places. This will cause us to
fail section 508 1194.21 g)

(g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections
and other individual display attributes.

However as IE also fails this one this means that we likely don't have to be
concerned.

1) In the help contents the Bookshelf bar does not use the system, colours - it
is always white on blue
2) The Bookshelf title is invisible if the text colour in white (like in High
Contrast Black)
3) The widget for the tree uses a fixed size font - it does not become extra
large when the windows settings are High Contrast White Extra Large
4) All help has a white background and black text. However IE has the same
issue so it might not be our problem.
5) Search view does not respect large font settings
6) All tabs use a small font and should us a n appropriate system font

We are working on a completely redesigned help ui that picks up the system
colours (and also has a different L&F).
It will be in a driver as soon as it gets ported on some of the other browsers
(Mozilla, etc.)

BTW, we have not closed on the font issue.
The design was done with Tahoma 8pts, but your observations are valid, and we
should think about picking up system settings (perhaps adjusted by a certain
proportion).

I will close this, as colour problems are fixed, and opened #12654 to track the
font issues.
