Description Ringo De Smet CLA 2005-12-07 04:21:01 EST
Hello,

I have commented on a Bugzilla entry 118667 and also wanted to cast a vote for it to be fixed. However, I do not find the voting functionality on the bug entry page. Has this been disabled explicitly or by accident?

Before I entered this entry, I searched all of Eclipse website (mail lists, news groups) to find out if there was a decision to disable it, but I couldn't find any.

Greetings,

Ringo

Weird, I do have the voting functionality for this Bugzilla entry. What is the difference?

AFAIK voting is configured per product, i.e. it's not configured for AJDT.

This is counterintuitive. I have commented that the bug is not AJDT related, so it needs to be redirected to the JDT team. This means that I can't vote for this bug as long as it is under the AJDT team, but that it could be possible once it is redirected. I think the voting should be configured on a global level.

I think this should be discussed in the inital bug. <my two cents>I don't think it should be moved. The original bug handles a trace where AJDT is involved. Your trace is completely differen. Thus, you should open a new bug report.</my two cents>

I don't know if there is a global policy that regulates voting on all projects. Anyway, the Webmaster should know if it was accidentally forgotten or disabled on request. We'll have to wait for his response.

As Gunnar said, voting is enabled or disabled as per the individual project's needs. If they want it on, that's fine. If they want it off, that's fine also. It's their portion of Bugzilla, and it's their call.

I'm CC'ing the AJDT team -- do you guys wish to have voting enabled on your Bugzilla Product?

Yes, having voting enabled for AJDT sounds reasonable - I wasn't aware that it wasn't.

Done. Voting is enabled for AJDT.
