there a couple of scenarios for this:

1) click on button when view is already showing (should the button be there?)
2) run some jobs that will produce a warning or error
   - then in some cases clicking on the button will not open the view and makes
 the button go away
3) sometimes clicking on the button (after all jobs are done) opens some other
view (like console) when it does not have any information anymore. (stale data?)

If I try to submit something to CVS for a project I don't have access to, I see an error dialog flash by with the error message (but it happens too quickly to see), and clicking on the progress button on the bottom right with the red X does nothing.

It is solved by introducing the status handling facility in 3.3.
