To avoid issues like Bug 112811, it would be nice if colors used in Eclipse 
wasn't hardcoded to specific system colors. 
 
For example, FormColors, set background to this: 
 
125:  background = display.getSystemColor(SWT.COLOR_LIST_BACKGROUND); 
 
But sometimes this is just not a good color based on the theme (I've seen 
people with complex custom windows themes as well where this just doesn't look 
good borderlining useless, so it is not just a Linux issue).  
 
I can override it in my applications by code, but it makes eclipse harder to 
use out of the box. It would be really nice if I could set these color 
assumptions up in Appearance > Colors & Font preferences.

The forms plugin doesn't currently use the themes support.

There is no plan to fix this.
