Description Thomas Auinger CLA 2005-10-12 17:45:12 EDT
I am committing a file with an unknown file extension, such as "blah.blah".
Eclipse opens a dialog titled "Commit Files" and prompts me to specify the
content type for this unknown resource (ASCII or Binary). The default is "Binary"

Then I switch the content type to ASCII and click "Next"

The next page of the dialog shows where I am prompted for my commit comment. The
lower section of the dialog has a list of outgoing Changes. However, the file I
am about to commit still shows content type "Binary" instead of "ASCII".

Once committed, the file is stored as ASCII on the server, of course. Eclipse
merely displays the wrong content type in the commit dialog.

I just ran into this too. Sounds like a great bug for bugday if Michael could point us in the right direction.

How about a mylyn context?

Denis, what build are you using? According to the bug 199536 it has been fixed for 2 months. Would you mind grabbing the latest release and verifying it (it works for me)?

Chris, could you explain to me what did you mean asking about the mylyn context? I'm afraid I can't any connection.

I'm using "ancient" R3.3.1.1.1.1.1.1 so consider my input null and void :-)
