Description Martin Vlk CLA 2005-10-03 11:15:27 EDT
I am using a non-standard system font (larger) in my Windows XP. When I open the
Preferences dialog I change it's size and expand the preferences tree area so
that it can be used properly.

That is quite ok, but the problem is that the new settings are not remembered
properly.

The window has to be resized every time I open the Preferences dialog. The tree
area width is remembered during the same Eclipse session, but forgotten when I
close and reopen Eclipse.

Could the Preferences dialog remember it's layout once changed by the user?

Agree. I am using a standard font and I have this problem as well. In my case, it would just be enough if the size of the preferences window would be remembered by the platform. Wish I could vote more than once for this.

Hiya, any chance of fixing this in 3.2?

Cheers
Martin

It does not keep it through invocations by design - it is a session property. I don't expect we will change this behaviour any time soon if at all.

There are currently no plans to work on this however I would be happy to look over a contribution
