We should more tolerant with syntax errors in the source that is formatted.

This bug requires bug 42253 and bug 110194 to be fixed first.

We must first switch to a DOM tree. And this is not completed yet since I have cases where the alignments need to be reworked.

Consider for 3.3 as part of the changes for bug 110194.

Wontfix as prerequesite bug 110194 wasn't fixed...
