Description
Martin Aeschlimann
I also feel the naming is not very clear. To me, the three wizards mentioned here are related. They are doing very similar things, but with slight variations on the actual effect. However, the names are radically different, and it makes it hard for me to remember which one I want. I do agree the current labels can be confusing. But I don't think the suggested names clearly reflect the action that will happen e.g. Import Extract from Archive, Import Copy from File System, Import Link to Existing Project. Each of these actions has 2 verbs, which is confusing. Import is the action we are performing, then we need to say what (a noun) we are importing. We just need to come up with better labels that accurately describe the entire action. Import From Archive, Import From File System seems more accurate to me. I think Import Existing Projects into Workspace is actually an accurate description now that bug 17523 is fixed. Another point to consider is that we should do our best to keep these labels as short in length as we can while still conveying clarity of what will happen in each wizard. The labels mentioned in the Description are the same in I20140606-1215. So, if the need for better labels still exists, this applies to Luna too. This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie. |
