This would be a nice enhancement, but unlikely to be in 1.0. This is a great idea, but we don't have people to work on this just now. We would accept high quality patches, though. We do add in the Import if the Date is added through content assist. So one way around this is to invoke content assist here Date|() and choose Date, this will leave that call the same but add the import for you. Though I agree having some quick action to add in the import would be nice. I've implemented the feature for 3.6 M3.
