After running eclipse for a while, the copy-to-clipboard behaviour becomes unusable. In the java text
editor, if I double-click to select some text, then immediately do a copy (Command-C) it does not work
50% of the time, so when I do a paste I get the previous clipboard contents instead of what I was
expecting. Then I have to undo and try again. And then try again, sometimes several times before it
"takes." This is such a common workflow pattern (select-copy-paste) that it is a huge impediment
when it doesn't as expected. It doesn't seem to matter how big the file I'm editing is.

The only workaround is to double-click to select and then wait about 2 seconds before doing a copy, or
alternatively, quit and restart Eclipse. After restarting things return to normal for a while but inevitably
after a while (perhaps 1-2 hours?) it gets slow again.
