Description Matthew T. Veety CLA 2005-08-01 16:32:17 EDT
TCT Number: 528
OS : RHEL 3.1
Not a must fix
Severity : 3
Build date:20050727
Language: CHS
Bitmap Location: Z:\defects\zh\528_BaseMenuItem_02001120.jpg
Tester Name: Denver Dang

Problem Description:
Steps:
1. Open Eclipse
2. Click "Go to Workspace"
3. Click "Problem"
4. Select "Filters"
Filter panel would appear.

There are two mnimonics "D" for "Deselect All" and "Where Description"
Also, when I choose "Alt+E", it will go to "contains" instead of "Error"

Thank you!
Comment 1 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-08-02 12:13:52 EDT
The mnemonics were being programatically changed (see bug 105809). But we
should change the mnemonic for the "Where description contains" message to W.
I will attach patches for 3.1.1 and 3.2 streams
Comment 2 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-08-02 12:17:46 EDT
A pic of the dialog with the mnemonics showing would be helpful so I can see
the duplicated E mnemonic. It does not appear to be a problem in English so I
suspect it is related to bug 105809.
Comment 3 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-08-02 16:05:03 EDT
Fixing the duplicate menmonics will require changing 2 entries in a .properties
file. Cam, are changes to the .properties files permitted at this point?

Alt+E is not the current mnemonic for the Error checkbox on the Chinese
locale. It appears to be H. With the fix for bug 105809, the e mnemonic for
the "Where description" combo will go away.
Comment 4 Steven Wasleski CLA 2005-08-03 09:50:02 EDT
Karice, yes stings can be added or changed in response to TVT bugs. Just make
sure Cam and team are aware of the change so the testers can catch up the
translation.

patch for ide plugin

.properties file change only, no code
Comment 6 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-08-03 13:13:51 EDT
Patch is for 3.1.1 stream, but the same change needs to be applied to 3.2
Comment 7 Tod Creasey CLA 2005-08-03 13:27:38 EDT
Patch released into 3.1.1 build > 20050803
Comment 8 Tod Creasey CLA 2005-08-03 13:33:27 EDT
Also released for 3.2 build >2050803
Comment 9 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-09-26 13:42:31 EDT
Verified Problems > Filters dialog has unique mnemonics in 3.1.1 20050923-1430
simplified chinese, using NLpack1-eclipse-SDK-M20050816-1400-win32.zip.
Comment 10 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-09-26 14:31:11 EDT
In the Problems>Filters dialog I see E (for Where description combo and Error
checkbox) being used twice in 3.1.1 RC2 in English.
Comment 11 Karice McIntyre CLA 2005-09-27 11:10:38 EDT
It is too late to make changes to translated files for 3.1.1. Changing target
to 3.2. This dialog may have changed quite a bit for 3.2.
Comment 12 Karice McIntyre CLA 2006-04-13 11:38:24 EDT
This bug is only still valid in the 3.1.x stream. Changing target.
Comment 13 Karice McIntyre CLA 2006-07-13 10:49:40 EDT
Resolving as wontfix, since there are no plans for further 3.1.x releases and the problem doesn't exist in 3.2.
