I'm filing this bugzilla to track what I have discussed with Silenio yesterday.

On Windows XP, the progress bar has white pixels in all four corners. With a
dark background splash screen, this does not look good.

We would like to be able to specify the font name, font size (pixels) and font
style of the message text.

Ideally, the progress bar's foreground colour would be configurable too.

I believe this is not a issue anymore, since the splash is done with SWT in the new launcher.

Agreed. It's as customizable as you'd like it to be. Marking as WONTFIX.
