Description Barry Kaplan CLA 2005-06-23 10:43:02 EDT
(RC3, Not sure what to what component this belongs)

With workspace auto-refresh enabled, perform a cvs update with an external tool
(eg, smartcvs, command line) and all the CVS directories that were previously
hidden in the package explorer become visible.

Performing a subsequent cvs update from within eclipse does not hide the CVS
directiries in the package explorer. Closing and reopening the project will hide
the CVS directories once again.
Comment 1 Barry Kaplan CLA 2005-06-23 10:44:57 EDT
Oh, if auto-refresh is not enabled, and a cvs update is performed externally,
and then refresh is triggered manually, the CVS directories do not appear in the
package explorer. (Hence, I tend to turn off auto-refresh. But its somewhat of a
pain to have to remember to refresh.)
Comment 2 Michael Valenta CLA 2005-06-23 10:58:48 EDT
The Resources plugin currently does not give us API that would allow us to
hide the CVS directories before a view sees them. Another workaround is to
close the view where the CVS directories appear and then reopen it. If you
have multipe perspectives open, you may need to close the view in all
perspectives.
Comment 3 Barry Kaplan CLA 2005-06-23 13:20:28 EDT
Can you file a bug with the Resources plugin to get appropriate API? (I would
myself, but I don't think I could provide the proper details.)
Comment 4 Michael Valenta CLA 2005-06-23 13:24:17 EDT
The bug already exists (bug 50965).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
